Eurimbula duck-boat tour with a beach picnic

An amphibious LARC crosses two waterways from Town of 1770 and runs along Eurimbula National Park to an empty beach on Bustard Bay. Lunch is a picnic in the shade of an old casuarina tree, and then you have time to walk the sand or swim.

Eurimbula Duck Boat Tour with Beach Picnic

About this experience

The duck boat here is a LARC, an amphibious vehicle that drives on sand and floats across water. This short trip, sold as the LARC + Lunch tour, crosses two waterways out of Town of 1770 and edges along Eurimbula National Park to a long golden beach on Bustard Bay. On the way the guide gives a running commentary on local history, culture, plants and wildlife, and you may spot migratory birds.

On the beach, lunch is served under an old casuarina tree. After that the time is yours: sit in a beach chair, walk the shoreline or swim in Bustard Bay. The whole trip takes two hours, which fits around a reef day or a late start. It has 13 reviews so far, averaging 4.8, and guests single out the guide's knowledge of the flora and fauna.

This is the gentle option among the LARC trips. The Paradise Tour runs all day to the Bustard Head lighthouse and adds sandboarding, while the afternoon coastline tour is one hour with no stop. None of them go to Lady Musgrave Island; for that, see the island day cruise.
